Southeast Linuxfest: We're back.

Got back from SELF about 2 weeks ago. It was by far the best FOSS event I've been to, not that I've been to that many.
It bugs me that there aren't very many good ones. Ohio linuxfest is well spoken of, but it's pretty far, not that SELF was any better.

I drove down there from Pennsylvania with 2 friends from my local LUG and my fiance. She gets the prize for putting up with us geeks for the 12 hour + drive to South Carolina, and especially for rewiring the inverter powering all our kit for the drive while underway. We had a great time, but I know it was tough for a not-really-geeky person to be along with us for that long drive. She also helped me man the freenode booth at SELF which is greatly, greatly appreciated.

Anyway, SELF itself was great, met lots of great people, and I wish them success in the future. One thing I'd like to see though is more events similar to this and in more regions. Even ignoring the rest of the world, the US is big enough for more than a couple a year, and I'd really like to see something up north. But more on that another day.

SELF team, awesome event, good luck in the future, and keep living the dream.
