Debian part 2
So, I think I like this. Since I'm using ubuntu on the desktop (at least in the places I use a linux desktop, which no, is not everywhere) debian on the backend is working out for me. I'm playing around with some stuff that I think is rather cool (irssi scripting and the like). Those of you who know me well, know I spend a lot of time on irc, so I'm hoping to make something useful of all this. I think I have some ideas for irssi scripting that could make for some very interesting stuff.
So, my irc VPS is staying debian for now. I like it, it's easy to get software onto from CLI, and it's pretty simple to navigate. Enough so that I put debian on my parents new home storage server.
In other news, I've been blogging a bit for freenode, specifically for their new "geeknic" thing. These picnics for geeks are taking place all over the world, and I had the privilege of helping to organize and attend the very first one in Philadelphia. It was quite a success, with 30 people showing up and the weather holding out for us despite fears of rain. I look forward to many more such events in the future! You can read more about these events at http://geeknic.org/
